UV‐Shielding and Clusteroluminogenic Cellulose‐Based Films with Tuneable Wettability and Permeability for Dually Self‐Indicating Food Packaging

Food packaging plays a vital role not only in extending the shelf-life and ensuring safety quality of food, but also reducing occurrence food loss waste. This study reports generation biocompatible tuneable cellulose-based films, which show strong UV absorbing capacity both UVA UVB regions to protect packaged from degradation. By taking advantage process clusterization-triggered emission, films can indicate, by displaying changes intensity luminescence, their properties status food. The protective dually self-indicating is demonstrated using frozen chicken breast as model. Together with negligible toxicity, good barrier properties, high tunability, warrant further development materials for applications.
